1. Purpose
These terms of sale govern every order placed on vetma.fr. By placing an order you accept them in full. They are available at all times on this page and you are invited to read them before ordering.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one online on the day you place it.

3. Products
We sell books, magazines and clothing. Each product is presented with a description, photographs and its price. Photographs are as faithful as we can make them, but slight differences in colour or finish may exist between the images and the item you receive — particularly for printed matter, where paper and ink vary between print runs.
Our offers are valid while stocks last. Vetma works in short runs: a product may sell out and not be reprinted.
4. Prices
Prices are shown in euros. VAT is not applicable under article 293 B of the CGI, so the price you see is the price you pay for the goods.
Shipping costs are added at checkout and shown before you confirm. Customs duties and import taxes for destinations outside the European Union are not included and remain at your charge.
We may change our prices at any time, but products are invoiced at the price shown when you place your order.
5. Orders
You select your items, check your basket, enter your delivery details and confirm. Confirming your order means you accept these terms and creates a binding contract.
You receive an order confirmation by email. Please check it and tell us straight away if anything is wrong — an error in your address is the most common cause of a lost parcel.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in case of an obvious pricing error, a suspicion of fraud, or an unresolved dispute on a previous order.
6. Preorders
Some items, such as our book Everything Spreads From Here, are sold as preorders before the print run is delivered to us.
When you preorder:
- You pay in full at the time of the order.
- The expected dispatch period is shown on the product page. It is an estimate and may move: printing and shipping are not entirely in our hands.
- We keep you informed by email if the date changes significantly.
- You may cancel your preorder at any time before it ships, by writing to sav@vetma.fr, and receive a full refund.
- Once delivered, your 14-day right of withdrawal applies as for any other order.
7. Payment
Payment is made at the time of the order, by the methods shown at checkout. Transactions are processed by Shopify Payments and its payment partners over a secure encrypted connection. We never see and never store your card details.
Your order is processed once payment is authorised. If payment is refused, the order is cancelled.
8. Delivery
Delivery terms, times and costs are set out in full on our Shipping & returns page, which forms part of these terms.
Risk passes to you when the parcel is handed over to you. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, note it with the carrier and tell us within 14 days.
9. Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days from receipt to withdraw from your purchase, under articles L221-18 and following of the Code de la consommation. The procedure, the model form and the refund terms are set out on our Shipping & returns page.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content supplied immediately after purchase, where you have expressly agreed to immediate delivery and waived your right of withdrawal.
10. Guarantees
All products carry the legal guarantee of conformity (articles L217-3 and following of the Code de la consommation) and the guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 and following of the Code civil), free of charge, for two years from delivery.
Under the guarantee of conformity you may ask for repair or replacement, and if neither is possible, a refund. You do not have to prove the defect existed at delivery during the first two years.
11. Free gifts
Certain products come with a free Vetmeter, added automatically to your basket. One free Vetmeter is given per order. The gift has no cash value and cannot be exchanged. If the qualifying product is returned, the gift should be returned with it.
12. Intellectual property
All content on this site — photographs, texts, layouts, the Vetma name and logo — is protected. The works published in our books and magazines remain the property of their authors. Buying a product gives you no right to reproduce, distribute or exploit its content commercially.
13. Personal data

14. Liability
We are liable for the proper performance of your order under the conditions set out by law. We cannot be held liable for delays caused by the carrier, by customs, or by force majeure, nor for an incorrect delivery address entered by you.
15. Complaints and dispute resolution
Write to sav@vetma.fr first — most problems are settled in a few emails.
If we cannot agree, you may refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator within one year of your first written complaint:

16. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. This does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
